Default Burning through a "stack" plus a major break through in self-healing

Hello everyone,

I've read a number of posts and discussions between members of this group discussing their interpretation of Doc's work; however, I have yet to read of any "wins" or successful applications of Doc's work in one's personal life (I haven't read all the posts!). Seeing I just had a number of personal break-throughs using the techniques Doc describes, I thought I would share my subjective experience of them.

I have been meditating for about three years using Doc's technique of just surrendering thoughts as they arise; however, about two months ago, I started doing long hours of meditation (4-7 a day) over the period of a month. During my meditation, when I finally managed to stop the energizing of thought, I could feel many sensations in the small intestine area. I didn't label them, however, these sensations could be best described as a fluidic back and forth motion, like the area was agitated. Interestingly, it seemed as though this energy was energizing negative thoughts. If this energy "escaped," it appeared to energize thought and the thought was invariably negative, e.g. attacking someone verbally, arguing, etc. The fluidic agitation in my small intestine area lasted throughout the meditation and would start up with each meditation. It appeared the sensation of agitation was building with successive meditations.

During the meditation in which this "stack released," it felt as though it was building, building, building and then it let go. In the instant it "let go," I could see the 100s of times during this lifetime in which I took a "spiritual short cut"--the path of least resistance or laziness. I could instantaneously see this pattern in my relationships, work, sports, writings, etc. Interestingly, the agitation in my small intestine area completely dissipated and the inner voice is much subdued. It's as though I had 5 guys in my head, each taking a turn at saying things into a microphone, and well, 2 of these clowns have left the stage.

Very interestingly, about 6 weeks later, I was able to "nail" the last of a residual Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Using the techniques Doc described in Handling Major Life Crisis chapter in H&R, I was able to "burn" through the energy of my IBS. I was driving my car and then the IBS and severe panic of this flared up. This syndrome has greatly limited all areas of my life since high school (25 years....). Usually what happens during an attack is that my mind goes crazy, going into past stories, feelings of shame and guilt for a lack of control, projecting into the future of getting into an embarrassing situation due to a lack of control. However, this time I managed to remember the techniques Doc described:
1) disconnect the mind - it is going into overload
2) focus on the energy of the experience, don't label it, labelling it engages the mind and all the fear thoughts within the collective unconscious.
3) walk straight into the energy of the experience and ask for more of that energy.

EXACTLY as Doc describes, the sensations came in large waves, focusing in my solar plexus and stomach area and lower bowel area... it dissipated, then came back stronger, then dissipated a little, then came back in one more final tidal wave, then dissipated COMPLETELY. Interesting, it felt like the energy "burnt itself out" in the areas I mentioned.

The ordeal lasted about 8 minutes and if I lost focus and let a thought get energized, the thought caused tremendous pain and severe panic, which was incentive to get back on the crest of the wave and focus on the energy of the emotion.

I know I nailed it, as I waited about three hours before I used the washroom and I don't feel any sense of fear of putting myself in a situation I used to avoid due to having fear of a IBS flare up. Interestingly, I could pin-point a couple of areas in my past where I avoided facing something, e.g. chickening out....hahaha. My ego made excuses for its lame behaviour, though....I think this lack of taking responsibility played a part in me getting IBS in the first place.

Strangely, I thought I had dealt with the the IBS due to my intense spiritual work during the past 4 years; however, I didn't realize until that last episode that subconsciously, there was still fear that was associated with the IBS. This fear was limiting my behaviours and enjoyment of life. Again, the inner voice has quieted....

What I've learned from this is the importance of meditation. Because of the long hours of meditation I've done, I was able to focu, like a razor on the sensations and watch it burn itself out. Also, I took notes from Doc's book and was practicing his techniques described in H&R, so when the attack happened, I was able to remember to do them as opposed to falling into an old behaviour pattern of panic and shame. Also, it is getting easier and easier to surrender these energizes as they arise - before they become a thought. So my mind is getting quieter and my sense of inner peace is growing.

Anyway, I hope everyone found this explanation applicable to the challenges one is working on.

God Bless!

Michael Annison

Thumbs up Practical Application

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences in such explicit terms.

Oftentimes, I've heard people talk about dealing with "stacks" but never really understood what it actually "looked like" (so to speak). It is very helpful to have a real life example rather than vague descriptions. Your honesty and willingness to be so open is inspiring.

Recently, I was troubled about a situation and was making a point of maintaining a continuous position of "yin" or "surrender," as Dr. Hawkins has mentioned (to the best of my ability). This ties in with the ACIM lessons that I'm now into my second year of doing, along with praying for the miracle of "re-contextualization."

Early one morning, I woke with a sense of relief and freedom, knowing that I was safe, regardless of whatever the outcome of the situation might be. When the situation culminated, I found myself at peace. In the past, I might have ruminated about it for months at a time, dropping into states of guilt, shame and self-recrimination. Another aspect to the "process" is that I availed myself of spiritual companions and sought honest feedback as Dr. Hawkins suggests in T v. F.

Oh, one thing I didn't mention, I've been doing A Course In Miracles for the past 3 years or so. In my subjective opinion, the continuous faithful application of the course lessons greatly helped in getting to a point where my crap could come up to be healed.

Contemplation (ACIM) + Meditation + Prayer (I forgive the one in me who....... or any other great self healing prayers) = Increase in consciousness.

Once again, I hope this helps others who are working through their karma!

Michael

I have also found applying ACIM helpful in healing. This physicality is sensitive to energy, and I have at times witnessed and felt energy blockages shifting and releasing on the energy body just by sitting with the lesson for the day and repeating them and affirming the phrases that are supplied with each lesson.

I haven't noticed it happening every time with every lesson, but it has pleasantly happened on occassion.

Thanks be to Thee, Oh Lord.
